Dr. Kelli Kristine Grimm

Dr. Kelli Kristine Grimm in an almost-native Austinite and grew up in Austin from 6th grade through high school. She came to Great Oaks when she was in high school when her family adopted a greyhound.

She traveled the country for college and graduate work but settled back in Austin in 2003. Her undergraduate degree is in marine biology from TAMU-Galveston and she did her masters work at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, but started college as a theater major at Northwestern University. She graduated cum laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 and completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Missouri in 2003. She joined the doctors of Great Oaks Animal Hospital in 2005. 

Her areas of special interest are feline medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospice. She has two rescued cats: Shade (who was found in a toilet in Kuwait) and Chess. She enjoys being with her family and friends who are family, trips to the wineries and restaurants in the Hill Country, Aggie and Kansas City football, cooking and baking. 

Dr. Grimm is a member of the AVMA and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association as well as the American Association of Feline Practitioners and was instrumental in making Great Oaks Animal Hospital an AAFP Cat Friendly Practice.

Her great pride in working at Great Oaks is having seen multiple generations of pets within  a family, and even families themselves - now treating the pets of adult children who grew up coming to Great Oaks Animal Hospital with their family pets. What an honor!
